Job duties include working in trenches at various depths, cutting pipes to required lengths, measuring, cutting, threading and assembling new pipes, installing or repairing sanitary or stormwater structures, backfilling pipes with earth or stone and compact to required density, loading and unloading materials, devices and machine parts, daily clean up and maintaining an organized jobsite.
Must be knowledgeable and experienced in operating various types of heavy equipment including trackhoes, dozers, track or wheel loaders, skid steers, backhoes, rollers, graders & articulating trucks. Perform daily cleaning of equipment tracks and cabs – must be able to perform basic machine maintenance. Must be familiar with hand signaling, have experience in aligning machines, cutter heads or depth gauge markers with reference to stakes and guidelines on the ground or in position on equipment.
Operate various types of heavy equipment. Supervise on-site personnel and discipline accordingly, as per employee handbook. Thoroughly review drawings, specs and subcontractor scopes of work. Schedule inspections as required, manage material deliveries and execution of tasks, manage all self-performed work to stay within budget and maintain quality control, maintain daily logs of subcontractors and manpower on site, critical incidents and conversations, maintain daily housekeeping on site, communicate with the General Manager and Project Manager on a daily basis to update job status.
